I'd like you to meet Alfred (Alf) Moran, Alf is actually my Uncle and he too went away to sea, long before I ever did though. It was listening to some of Alf's tales of far away lands that helped me decide that I wanted to go and see for myself what he was talking about. In colaboration with Alf, I am going to list all the ships he served on during his time at sea. Alf never served with Buries Markes, but in a strange coincidence served on a vessel in 1946 called "Fort Spokane", which was later to become the 1951 - 1952 Buries owned "La Orilla". If anyone thinks that they might have sailed with Alf (He was an AB / Bosun) please let me know and I will put you in touch with him.
