La Hacienda and Other Stories

After Buries

This page is to show what happened to various Buries Markes vessels after they were sold on to other companies. Not always a good thing as the condition of some of the vessels may bring a tear to the eye.

I did the maiden voyage of the La Primavera in 1979 and spent 9 months on her, even carrying cement she was immaculate. But much to my dismay, George Edwards has been sending me this collection of photos of the "Prim" as she is now.

George sailed on the Prim several times and was on her when she was sold in 1985. She continued in service with B.Navi Shipping of Italy as "Bio Bio" until she was eventually sold for demolition between April and June 2010.

I served 7 months on the La Cordillera and while she wasn't in the same league as the Prim, she was still a clean ship. Here is life for her after she was sold in 1983, my thanks again to George Edwards for the photos
